The refresh for the 2024 Camry will see the sedan arrive with an updated design. We can see Camry moving towards sharing a similar design to the recently released Crown and Prius. The Camry could come with razor-thin headlights and an updated fascia with a narrow grille and large front air intake. At the rear, the sedan could benefit from updated taillights that are slimmer than the current one and a revised bumper.

With the 2024 Camry expected to receive a refresh, we could see the mid-size sedan moving to share the interior design with the Toyota Crown. The dashboard will likely be updated to accommodate a larger touch screen and a simpler overall design. The current Camry has a y-shaped dashboard that can change for 2024.

We’re not sure what’s in store for the 2024 Camry on the tech front. The sedan can accept a larger center touch screen measuring 12.3 inches. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, six audio speakers, five USB ports, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluste and satellite radio can come as standard.

The Camry currently comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces up to 206 horsepower and is available with a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 301 hp. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is available. We don’t expect to see any updates to the Camry’s powertrain for 2024.

Forty years and going strong! Toyota’s Camry has become a kingpin of the industry with a score of two decades as North America’s best-selling passenger sedan. The current Generation has held the role since its debut in 2017.

Blame shifting buyer preferences and the never-ending quest to plant the bum into an SUV, but the modest sedan continues to struggle in the face of others being sacked. Its direct rival, the Honda Accord, recently underwent a significant overhaul. So in response, we’ve envisioned how the next Camry codenamed XV80 might look like and dived into everything we know to date.

2024 Toyota Camry Redesign

So far the look of the 2024 Toyota Camry hasn’learly revealed, but Toyota is giving us a major update for the 2024 Camry model. The current Toyota Camry has maintained sales capable of maintaining an annual sales figure of over 300,000 units in the US alone.

The new Camry will likely feature these elements with a design that is still sketchy, but we can take a close look at some details here and there such as the C-shaped headlights, lower intake bumper, and dashing profile as can be seen on the new sedan as design cues from New Crown and Prius.

With the prototype’s side angles revealing a few key details. The Camry’s similar alloy wheel design and other key details are all hidden under camouflage. Add to that a pretty prominent spoiler on the trunk lid and there’s a very aggressive front arch end plate behind the Cambody kiteels.

The bodykit implemented on the 2024 Toyota Camry employs a subtle body kit similar to that offered on the current Camry TRD model with black trim and red stripes for good meas,ure. Additionally a rear redesign with wide taillights modeled after the GR86 sports car unit and a license plate nacelle perched above the diffuser will have jarring practical implications and a realistic trunk opening.

Along the way, we can see that the alloy wheel design is mostly similar to the current model, but other details are quite sparse due to camouflage. The only visible aspects are the slightly protruding spoiler connected to the trunk lid and the aggressive front arch end plates behind the wheels. The rear of the test vehicle is also a bit hard to see, but it’s expected that the Camry will follow the trend of featuring a lightbar that connects to the taillights.

For now, the upcoming Camry looks to be more of an evolutionary update of the current-generation model and could borrow the ‘Hammerhead’ design from the Crown or Crown Sport SUVs. The upcoming Camry will likely be based on the same TNGA-K platform that underpins several other Toyota models, and the Lexus model in turn retains the same 111.2-inch wheelbase albeit with slight revisions to the front and rear overhangs to make them appear longer.

2024 Toyota Camry Design

With a three-box design, the study leverages the Japanese automaker’s recent string of conceptual debuts as well as the more crossover-friendly Prius and Crown for an ultra-modern appearance that looks fast when standing still.

The visual ripple starts at the front with sleek boomerang-shaped LED headlamps, a contrasting trapezoidal, grille graphic and a bonnet that’s very un-Camry-like. The large wheels are pushed into corners to reinforce a dynamic stance, while the smooth side surfaces allow sufficient tension to be applied to the undercarriage and shoulder lines.

Muscular thighs and full-width rear LED lighting clusters help define the rear, as do tapered decklids, beautiful rear quarter glass, and lower diffuser panels flanked by quad exhausts.

2024 Toyota Camry Specs

As more buyers moved into high-riding SUVs, Toyota remained dedicated to the sedans that helped build its brand. The next-generation Camry is likely to arrive for the 2024 model year, and we expect this new model to sport the brand’s highly stylish new design language that we’ve seen on the latest Prius.

A new powertrain is likely to be available, and we expect Toyota to offer more technology and safety features as well. The timing for the new Camry couldn’t be better; The eleventh-generation Honda Accord is here.

All we can do is speculate, but there’s a good chance that the eighth-generation Camry lineup will just be a hybrid. We suspect that the new Prius powertrain could serve as a base setup, with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder working with an electric motor to send 194 hp to the front wheels via a CVT.

The all-wheel-drive variant can add a second rear electric motor for a total output of 196 hp. Toyota could also use the Crown’s standard 2.5-liter inline-four all-wheel-drive hybrid setup, which produces 219 hp.

For an upgraded powertrain, there are several options. Toyota could offer the Camry Prime plug-in hybrid, which could use the Prius Prime’s 220-hp powertrain. A more interesting option is Crown’s 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-four, which features an electric motor and a six-speed automatic transmission for a total of 340 hp in the application.

2024 Toyota Camry GR

Toyota did not order the Gazoo Racing (GR) model for the sports car. That turns up the heat on the humble Corolla hatchback with the turbocharged all-wheel-drive Corolla GR, which we described as “a great deal of driving fun with a unique rally-car feel” in our review.

On the previous generation Camry, Toyota beautified its midsize sedan with the sporty TRD model, which featured an upgraded chassis, bigger brakes, a cat-back exhaust, and more refined cosmetics. It makes sense that the next-generation Camry GR is not out of the question.

2024 Toyota Camry HEV

First introduced internationally in 1982, some four decades ago, the compact Camry quickly evolved from the narrow-body lifestyle into today’s era of medium-sized wide-body clothing. And it’s also reaching its eighth generation, meanwhile.

Coming to market in 2017 and based on the global TNGA-K platform, Camry’s XV70 iteration saw a cosmetic upgrade about two years ago (for the 2021 model year), and has relied solely on casual updates since then, such as the 2022 Nightshade package or new 2023 color options. That’s pretty smooth, right?

Of course, some might think that Toyota should do well to start contemplating a potential replacement for the ‘XV80’ Camry IX. And if Japanese automakers don’t care to do that (just yet), they certainly will. Or, rather, at the tip of their CGI brush, as is the case here.

Well, meet Dimas Ramadhan, the virtual automotive artist behind the Digimods DESIGN channel on YouTube, who has taken on the task of unveiling the next Camry himself – albeit only in CGI. So, after a slew of digital crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks, he’s now back into virtual passenger car duties with the next-generation mid-size Toyota envisioned.

That’s a huge relief, even though we thought the pixel master only had CGI eyes for the Nissan Navara, Chevy S-10, Toyota Hilux Revo, Kia Sorento, and Toyota Fortuner, among many others.

Luckily, he hit the brakes with a hypothetical next-gen Mazda6 that looks like a sedan ready to take on the 2023 Toyota Crown in North America, so maybe it’s just a CGI prelude to his passenger car passion. Anyway, we have Mazda’s rival tucked under in a second digital presentation video, just in case that was more your cup of tea.

Now, returning to the all-new 2024-2025 Toyota Camry, writers have ditched a potential Crown-influenced approach and are instead pursuing a ‘Hybrid Reborn’ Prius. The headlights appear to be directly inspired by the iconic hybrid series, even the taillights have a casual resemblance, plus there’s an ‘HEV’ badge on the trunk lid. So, it can be assumed that we are dealing with Toyota’s upcoming Camry Hybrid.

Well, some might agree that Toyota’s new Prius sets the pace in terms of style across the hybrid lineup for the Japanese automaker, so they wouldn’t mind this unofficial Camry tribute. But others may feel that like the Prius and Crown, the top-selling mid-size sedan may need more tailored styling to remain relevant in North America. Now, especially more so than ever, the all-new 2023 Honda Accord is almost ready to start its first deliveries.

2024 Toyota Camry IX

At the moment, the Detroit automaker has little interest in maintaining a foothold in the slowly ailing passenger car market. But the same cannot be said about their Asian rivals.

Let’s take the traditional four-door sedan segment, for example. There, as far as mid-size options are concerned, folks at Hyundai and Kia have the Sonata (and soon the Ioniq 6), or the K5 and Stinger. Meanwhile, Nissan is playing the Altima card, while the Honda Accord is all-new for 2023 and poised to (potentially) transform its segment.

As for Toyota, the Japanese automaker is diligently preparing for its measured response – in the form of the return of the exciting 2023 Toyota Crown crossover sedan and an anticipated generational change for the Camry.

bestseller.. The ninth generation of the upcoming global model is expected soon after the 2024 model year, so rumors are already mulling over the expected fall of the 2023 window of opportunity for a release date.

With a possible internal name of XV80 or even XV90, the unreleased and unannounced Toyota Camry ‘IX’ is fast becoming the darling of the imaginative world of virtual automotive artists. Naturally, most have used the larger Crown as their template for future installments. Not the good guys over at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube, who instead leaned on the ‘Hybrid Reborn’ Prius for CGI guidance.

Plus, they also have a satellite venue dubbed AutoYa Interior, and that’s where all of the Toyota Camry’s CGI cockpit action happens. No need to worry, the exterior of this mid-size sedan is also well-displayed and complete with several unofficial color choices. Then it’s time for the informal interior presentation, which sees more subtle changes compared to the 2022 Toyota Camry currently on the market. Unfortunately, the informal color palette option is also not left behind.

2024 Toyota Camry Interior

On the inside of the comfortable and rugged 2024 Toyota Camry, we hope Toyota takes more inspiration from the Crown and refreshes most of the materials and technology. Quality leather and soft-touch finishes should be widely available in the new Camry. The new Audio Multimedia Interface, taken directly from the new Prius and Tundra, may also make its way into the sedan. We also expect the new screen to be an 8.0-inch or 12.3-inch touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity as standard.

We of course also expect the new Camry to be the safest it can be. Toyota’s new Safety Sense 3.0 active safety feature will offer a welcome improvement over the current Safety Sense 2.5 system. Features such as automatic high beam and adaptive cruise control are expected to make their way to the new model.

Proactive Driving Assist may also be present, a feature that helps provide gentle braking into corners, and gentle steering inputs to keep the vehicle in the lane or a safe distance from parked cars. All of these improvements are a big reason why we’re so excited about this new model.

These features are now equipped with active safety features Safety Sense 3.0 as standard equipment which is an improvement over the current Safety Sense 2.5+ which also maximizes comfort.

The system not only includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, automatic high beam, and adaptive cruise control, but also features Proactive Driving Assist which helps provide gentle braking into corners or gentle braking and/or steering to assist supports driving tasks, such as controlling the distance between your vehicle and previous vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists.

Underpinning the ninth-generation global Camry will likely be a modified version of the TNGA-K (GA-K) platform used under the current car and several other Toyota and Lexus vehicles such as the Crown, ES, RAV4, and Highlander.

Not being all-new in this case is going to raise some eyebrows; however, it’s the same game that Honda and their new Accord are using. The reason behind this is likely to be the shrinking sedan market and the redirection of development funds to BEVs.

A larger infotainment display with improved graphics and Toyota’s latest operating system will be featured. It combines wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ‘Hey, Toyota’ voice functionality, connected navigation, and over-the-air software updates.

Other goodies will include a digital instrument cluster and smartphone-based remote key entry, all likely inspired by the larger Crown pictured above and the new Prius.

Technology

Since introducing the current Camry in 2018, Toyota’s suite of in-car technologies has taken some big steps forward. The new Toyota Audio Multimedia interface and accompanying touchscreen feature wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a stripped down (but still not entirely intuitive) menu. It’s available in 8.0 and 12.3-inch sizes, both of which we suspect will be offered on the new Camry, with a smaller screen serving the less expensive model and a 12.3-inch unit adorning the more expensive model.

Also look for the new Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 active safety feature to make it standard equipment, an upgrade from Camry’s current TSS 2.5+ feature set. In addition to the automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, automatic high beam, and adaptive cruise control already included with the TSS 2.5+, version 3.0 adds the Proactive Driving Assist that Toyota hilariously calls “PDA” and is adjustments that automatically provide gentle braking into corners or gentle braking and/or steering to help support driving tasks, such as control of the distance between your vehicle and previous vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists.

Engine Performance

The 2024 Camry is equipped with one of the most powerful sedans in its class with an optional 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine that customers can choose from under the hood. This engine produces 301 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque and is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Powertrains

Toyota could present a version of the 2024 Camry with the performance to support a wilder look, given the new generation hybrid turbo engine that was recently introduced in the 2023 Lexus RX F Sport 500h and the new Toyota Crown sedan.

Combining the turbocharged 2.4-liter I-4 with a six-speed automatic transmission and an electric motor, as well as another electric motor driving the rear axle, this setup is good for between 340 and 366 hp — both of which are well above the 301 hp produced by the 3.5 Toyota V-6. liter offered as a top-level option for the current Camry.

The 2.5-liter I-4 hybrid that serves as Camry’s current hybrid powertrain (with 208 hp) will likely be brought over as the new model’s entry-level setup. As for the gas-only Camry? It’s possible, but likely in the context of performance-focused (i.e. Gazoo Racing) GR variants like the GR Corolla. Toyota has hinted at the GR Camry, and we think it’s waiting for a new Camry generation to introduce it.

The turbocharged I-3 and adjustable all-wheel drive system of the GR Corolla look like a stretch on the Camry one size up (already stretched from its original home, the overseas subcompact Yaris hatchback), so perhaps an upgraded version of the 2.4-liter turbo I- 4 of the hybrids mentioned above will work.

Two other powertrain options are available for the Camry at this time, namely a base 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a 2.5-liter hybrid. All engines are strong and powerful, providing plenty of speed for the sedan.

The next-gen Camry for 2024 is expected to skip the naturally aspirated V6 option. Instead, the full range is set to fully hybridize. Keeping the existing 2.5-liter hybrid and getting the next generation of the 2.4-liter turbo hybrid, the engine we’ve already seen in the 2023 Lexus RX F Sport 500h and the new Toyota Crown sedan.

Platforms

Toyota’s TNGA platform will continue to be the basis of the Camry, albeit with an almost certain increase in dimensions. In fact, the larger size may be necessary if Toyota pursues a more flashy style if only to compensate for the low roof and other sacrifices to convert function. As before, the Camry will offer front- and all-wheel drive options, even on hybrids. Our spy photos depict a Camry that, proportionally, at least, looks more or less the same as the current model; We suspect the wheelbase may even be the same as before, albeit with longer front and rear overhangs in favor of a noticeably longer styling.

MPG

What makes the Camry a good sedan is that despite its sportiness, it is also an economical vehicle. This is something that should get better with the 2024 model. For today’s naturally aspirated V6, the Camry achieves a combined rating of 26 MPG. That includes city numbers of 22 MPG and highway numbers of 32 MPG. Hybrids have a better set of numbers. Combined, that makes for an astounding 52 MPG. That also includes 51 in the city and 53 on the highway.

This will give 2024 Camry customers access to excellent fuel economy, and ensure that the new model is on average more economical than the previous generation.

PHEV

The PHEV Power with Propulsion series hybrid has been the dominant game for the Camry, and the electron-assisted 2.5-liter is likely to remain a top favorite as the mid-sizer enters its ninth generation. A shared plug-in hybrid with the RAV4 Prime is on the cards, packing 302 hp (225kW) with up to 44 miles of EV range.

Beyond that, conjectures suggest it will use the new 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in two states to replace the naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 that was once the powerhouse of its class. The turbocharged 2.4-liter base unit will produce around 265 hp (198kW), while the more powerful hybrid variant will pump out around 335 hp (250kW), sending power to all four wheels.

Security Features

Toyota included the Safety Sense 2.5+ suite on every eighth-generation Camry, but the TSS 3.0 system has already been rolled out on a number of the brand’s new models, including the latest Prius.

It looks like Toyota will also be adding its newest technology to its midsize sedan, with features including pre-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane departure avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane following assist, road sign assist, and automatic high beam.

We wouldn’t be surprised if other features join the list of options, such as front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic warning, 360-degree camera system, and hands-free parking assist.

2024 Toyota Camry Release Date

With a 2024 model year due, it won’t be long before the Japanese manufacturer is taking the cover off the new sedan. It’s likely the launch will come at this year’s LA Auto Show, which runs from November 17-26.

It’s already been seen that the current-gen Camry, which was first introduced in 2017, is running late for a major refresh. Price-wise, we expect to see an increase to the base price point of $26,320 simply because of inflation and general cost increases. That could put the 2024 Camry above the $27,000 Honda Accord’s price point. However, hopefully, Toyota will reveal everything soon.
