Inside, Avalon is spacious with enough room for five adults. Toyota dresses its largest sedan with a wide selection of soft-touch materials, convincing faux leather or genuine leather, and wood or aluminum trim on some models. The Toyota Avalon is also equipped with the latest driver assistance safety features. These items include automatic high beam, blind-spot monitoring, active lane control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control. The only shopping feature is the optional surround-view camera system.
For 2021, the Toyota Avalon is undergoing one of the most significant engineering changes with the addition of an optional all-wheel drive for the first time. The XSE Nightshade edition was also launched. For 2022, we hope Avalon will continue with a slight change of tone.
Under the hood, the Avalon has two engine options. The base model has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 205 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque. This one movement sends power to the wheels using 8-speed automatic transmission.
Front-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel drive is available and at no extra cost. The available 3.5-liter V6 engine develops 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. This one sends power to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Marketed separately is the Avalon Hybrid model. This one comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 176 horsepower or 215 horsepower with the electric motor at work. With an EPA rating of 43 mpg, it easily leads all major sedans, surpassing 32 mpg for the standard Avalon gas engine.

Only slight changes have occurred to Toyota’s full-size sedan this year. All-wheel drive makes its way into the Avalon lineup for 2022, and it’s optional on the XLE and Limited trim. Toyota also introduced the Nightshade Edition in the sporty XSE trim, which adds black exterior trim and 19-inch black wheels.
Elsewhere, the TRD model can be obtained with summer tires from the factory, the hybrid model receives a new lithium-ion battery pack that takes up less space, and Android Auto has finally joined the list of infotainment features.
People who live in areas where it often snows should love Avalon’s new optional all-wheel-drive system. Offered with only XLE and Limited trim, the Toyota Avalon AWD 2022 will provide added peace of mind for consumers who still prefer cars to SUVs.

Finally, the Nightshade Edition is on the new XSE trim, which adds a black exterior trim. The 2022 Toyota Avalon Redesign also still has five seats and provides all the comforts of a large sedan.
We might suggest carrying only two passengers in the back, but three is a good fit. There’s an impressive 40.4 inches of rear legroom. Cargo space measures 16.09 cubic feet, which is an average-sized trunk for a large sedan.

The 2022 TRD builds on the Touring performance chops, adding a black front splitter, side aero skirts, black rear spoiler, and rear diffuser. A contrasting metallic black roof is standard. 2022 Avalon Limited Just $ 700 separates the Limited, Touring, and TRD trims, but each has its own mission. Talking about the overall appearance of the cabin, the current Avalon2022 represents a big improvement over the models from the previous generation. A wide waterfall-style center pile separates the driver and front passenger and showcases handsome switchgear and an easy-to-reach touch screen.
The plastics used throughout the cabin are fine-grained, and the rear seats provide plenty of room for tall passengers to stretch their legs. Additionally, there’s a large trunk with 16 cubic feet of cargo space.
The standard folding rear seat with split 60/40 allows you to easily increase this capacity when carrying large items. In our test of the non-hybrid version, we put seven carry-on cases in the trunk and 18 with the rear seats folded. The hybrids we tested in 2019 used the older, larger battery pack that fits into the limited trunk and cargo space.
The car contains fewer suitcases (six with the rear seats used and 17 with them folded), but Toyota says the new lithium-ion batteries are smaller and keep all the luggage space of the Avalon.
The XLE trim base model Avalon comes with features like an eight-speaker sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. A 9.0-inch touchscreen is standard, along with Scout GPS Link navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot, and Amazon Alexa compatibility.
The list of optional upgrades includes a 14-speaker JBL sound system, integrated navigation system, and wireless device charging.

The Toyota Avalon gives buyers a choice of two powertrains: one that sucks up gasoline exclusively and one that uses a fuel-efficient hybrid arrangement. All fuel-only models are equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 that produces 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque.
An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels; The XLE and Limited models offer optional all-wheel drive. With its extensive list of standard features, we imagine Avalon’s basic XLE trim has what it takes to keep many car buyers happy. The XLE comes with exterior features such as power-adjustable side mirrors and LED headlamps.
Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard, along with the heated front seat, automatic dimming mirrors, and tilt and telescope steering column.
