This part seems to be shared with the Corolla; the interior design seems to have been influenced by the C-HR.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will likely become standard but navigation on the dashboard and the JBL stereo system will definitely be optional additions.
2022 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid Engine
We’re not yet sure what powertrains the Corolla Cross will offer in the United States but in Thailand,
The SUV subcompact offers a 138 hp 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable automatic (CVT) transmission and front-wheel drive.
Sounds familiar, that’s because the same tuning is offered on the Corolla sedan and the C-HR SUV.
Interestingly, the Corolla Cross also offers an optional hybrid powertrain in the global market, which adds two electric motors to it.
It’s possible that Toyota could make standard equipment hybrid powertrains when the Corolla Crossheads to North America – and if so, that means the all-wheel-drive will be a possibility.
The Corolla Cross will mechanically share much of the foundation with the existing Corolla hatch, according to data from Thailand,

Last fall at the Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota launched the GR Yaris, a high-performance version of its famous hatchback; The web is positively exploding, especially on this side of the Atlantic.
The fine print does show that the future hot hatch is aimed solely at the Japanese and European markets, but that hasn’t stopped some from dreaming. However, the reality is that the Yaris offered in that market and the one we have here – basically a rebadged Mazda2 – are not the same. GR Yaris never came here.
However, it’s not all bad on the hot door front. A Toyota America executive told Car and Driver magazine in February that the Japanese company had “answers” to our North American defense – although he declined to provide further details. The magazine immediately came up with the idea of an improved Corolla, with another publication envisioning the arrival of a steroid variant of C-HR.
Now, according to Car and Driver, it is certain that the Corolla will receive GR treatment from the company’s racing division, Gazoo Racing. The publication even marks the year of the model’s arrival: 2022, the same year that the Corolla-based SUV is expected.
It is also hoped that the future GR Corolla will inherit the GR Yaris engine, a 1.6L turbocharged unit capable of producing 257 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. Power rose as high as 268 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque with the GR Yaris variant provided for the Japanese market.
The GR Corolla will no doubt be less extreme than the GR Yaris. That version, inspired by the world of rally racing, benefits from all-wheel drive, which allows it to reach 0-100 km / h in 5.5 seconds. As a bonus, the GR Yaris can be equipped with optional limited slip differentials on the front and rear axles.
The Corolla, on the other hand, has to send its force forward. And then there’s the weight problem. The GR Yaris weighs 2,822 lb thanks to the aluminum hood, doors and rear doors, and carbon fiber roof. Our North American Corolla XSE is bigger and weighs 3,060 pounds.
Still, any news announcing the arrival of a cooler Corolla is still welcome.
Better yet, this future GR Corolla’s level of performance will allow it to compete directly with the Hyundai Veloster N, although the latter itself will benefit from more power over the next year. Then again, since Toyota still has plenty of time, it will have the opportunity to readjust.

2022 Toyota Corolla GR Sport
According to a new report, Toyota’s new GR Corolla hot hatch and GR C-HR performance SUV will be revealed sooner than expected, with both flagship models packing 200kW of power.
Best Car Web claims the GR Corolla will debut a year from now, in September 2021, with it also going to be available in body wagon styles.
Better yet, the Japanese publication also says the GR C-HR will launch just one month later.

Interestingly, Best Car Web is now reporting the Corolla and C-HR flagships will actually be dubbed the GRMN,
The nameplate provided for the most focused models in Toyota’s growing Gazoo Racing lineup, so maybe their chassis upgrades will be the next level.
The Japanese publication also noted that Gazoo Racing’s entry-level GR Sport maintenance will be applied to the mid-size RAV4 SUV in December next year,
While the Prius Prime plug-in hybrid received a similar upgrade eight months earlier.
