In good America, at least, times are tough for any automaker trying to win over some of Japan’s biggest rivals. And it doesn’t appear that at least one of them – Toyota – is slowing down anytime soon, neither in the real world nor in the imaginative world of digital car content creators.

Of course, Toyota hit back hard with lots of new stuff. They brought back the Crown nameplate – now a crossover-style sedan and dropped the XW60 Prius ‘Hybrid Reborn’, including the 220-hp Prius Prime plug-in hybrid format. The C-HR subcompact was dropped and quickly replaced by the Corolla Cross Hybrid, and there’s also the entire Corolla Nightshade family on board.
But that’s (mostly) the passenger car part of the story. Moving on to more crossovers, SUVs, and trucks, there are big superstars like the family-oriented three-row CUV 2024 Grand Highlander, plus the best-selling 2024 Tacoma – complete with a new i-Force Max hybrid powertrain and an adventurous Trailhunter slash.

According to AutoBlog, the 2025 Toyota RAV4 can be fully hybrid with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque which can drop with the gas-powered 2025 RAV4 in about 9.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph.
With the RAV4 Hybrid, of course, we will get the same engine combined with an electric motor to produce 219 hp which can reach 60 mph in about 7.8 seconds which is much sportier.

Besides that, the Toyota RAV4 Prime uses a 2.5-liter inline four with two electric motors and a rear battery to produce 302 hp which can accelerate to 60 mph in about 5.7 seconds.

Although the petrol version of the Toyota RAV4 lacks refinement, the RAV4 Hybrid remains a good choice in its class. If the next-generation SUV can emulate some of the charm of the recently redesigned Prius, which we named 2024 Car of the Year, the RAV4 Hybrid will be well positioned for the future.
