2025 Toyota RAV4: Exclusive Smoothly Compact SUV Reviews

Posted on

2025 Toyota RAV4 is an SUV-class vehicle that will be present in Australia in 2025 according to Drive. The next-generation RAV4 has been in queues for 18 months to two years on the popular Toyota RAV4 Hybrid variant, where since mid-2022 orders for the RAV4 Hybrid have been so significant that we are asking customers to sign a form acknowledging the price and features of the RAV4 Hybrid they ordered is subject to change.

Information we have from Drive suggests the development of the next Toyota RAV4 is underway ahead of its showroom arrival in late 2024 or early 2025 and is likely to be the same as the previous model’s lifecycle. For your information, the Toyota 2025 RAV4 in showrooms today was launched in March 2018 and entered production in the US and Canada in November 2018. Production in Japan started in January 2019 before the Australian showroom’s arrival in May 2019.

2025 Toyota RAV4 has arrived at the time it is planned to continue on sale in 2025. Year after year, the Toyota RAV4 is one of the best-selling SUVs on the market, with Toyota’s reputation for reliability being closely linked to its success.

We highly commend this small SUV for its spacious interior, comfortable ride, and easy-to-use technological features. There are also a variety of trim levels available to suit your budget or interests. The 2025 RAV4 TRD Off-Road trim, for example, is one of the few models in its class to offer increased off-road capability through all-terrain tires and special suspension changes.

Debuts 2021 the new all-electric SUV concept car on Monday at the Shanghai Auto Show. The Toyota bZ4X is the first electric car under the company’s new Beyond Zero (BZ) line of cars with zero carbon emissions.

It is the first of 15 fully electric cars the company plans to build by 2025 and one of seven under the bZ badge, according to a statement from CTO Masahiko Maeda.

This car is a compact SUV that looks similar to Toyota’s RAV4, but slides lower to the ground and has a longer wheelbase. It is the first car to be built on Toyota’s new electric e-TNGA BEV platform that the company co-created with Subaru. Subaru is expected to launch its electric car soon on the platform.

  • Toyota unveiled its new electric SUV at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show.
  • This car is similar in design to the RAV4 but is lower and has a steering wheel yoke.
  • The new EV is one of 15 the company plans to build by 2025.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Reviews

2025 The Toyota RAV4 is an SUV that has been Toyota’s best-selling vehicle for the last decade and is almost everywhere in the United States. Toyota’s small vehicle is also the most popular in a very popular segment, competing with the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, and Ford Escape. Given the arrival of the fifth generation model in 2019, Toyota will likely release an updated RAV4 in 2025.

The new-generation 2025 RAV4 is easy to like. Toyota provides three powerplant options, useful technology, and a practical layout, as well as excellent safety ratings and driver assistance features. We’ve never liked the driving experience of base models with their thrashy engines, but the hybrid and RAV4 Prime have smoother powertrains and, in Prime’s case, better ride quality. We crowned the RAV4 Hybrid as Toyota’s greatest vehicle after outperforming the comparable Honda CR-V in comparison tests.

Overall, for the 2023 model year, we’d point out that Toyota’s safety features lag behind the best in the segment, and we’d expect a TRD variation with hardware and off-road capability to match its rugged looks. If the current Prius is any indication, we expect the revised 2025 Toyota RAV4 to be more stylish, better to drive, and just as functional as before, while potentially capturing the spirit that years past failed to capture.

  • Toyota’s reputation for reliability
  • Anticipated hybrid model

2025 Toyota RAV4 Updates

In its latest update phase, Toyota in the online media Burlappcar revealed: that it will reveal the new generation of RAV-4 in a few months as a 2025 model. There are already several sketches, but no prototype of the new SUV has been seen.

A mid-cycle facelift with a renovated interior, not a true new generation. And this is after more than five years of production. That’s the 2025 Toyota Camry. An identical vehicle with a new front end, taillights, and a renovated interior. Which is not a new generation at all. It appears Toyota may do this with its “new” 2025 RAV-4.

The image above depicts the same car we’ve had for five years but with a revised front end. One that tries hard to resemble the new Toyota Land Cruiser. It ends up looking like a Frankenstein version of a modern RV-4 trying to imitate the appearance of a Land Cruiser. This is a bit sad…

The inside appears to follow the same recipe as the 2025 Camry, with mostly new features. but also a terrible combination of many other Toyota vehicles, from the BZ4x to the Crown sedan. Something like this might be bad news for the RAV-4. Toyota is making savings considering that sedans are not the most popular choice at the moment.

But their best-selling model is the RAV-4. With 435,000 sales last year alone! This number is also a significant increase from 367,000 in 2022. Of course, you would be surprised if Toyota didn’t spend a lot of money on such a popular vehicle. On the other hand, we also expect a Hybrid powertrain to be standard, with a PHEV being the only option.

Toyota RAV4 2025

As we all know the Toyota RAV4 has been the best-selling crossover SUV in the US for the past few years including 2021 and 2022. In 2022 alone Toyota sold over 399,941 units of the RAV4 model exclusively in the United States.

We expect the upcoming RAV4 to feature an updated and modernized design, surpassing its predecessor in both form and functionality. With a more aggressive front grille. It is hoped that the new 2025 Toyota RAV4 will have a bigger shape and accentuate its prowess.

The RAV4 also features all-new cutting-edge technologies which will be integrated to optimize visibility, resulting in sleek and modern headlights and taillights.

We firmly believe that 2025 will mark the arrival of a next-generation design for the Toyota RAV4 featuring fresh styling and an all-new body redesign. As one of the best-selling SUVs in the 2025 market, the RAV4 will present a redesign in 2025 that will suit all the different trims.

For now, the 2023 RAV4’s predecessor comes in 15 different trims. Of course, we think everyone likes the RAV4 Prime model.

The 2025 RAV4 News

In good America, at least, times are tough for any automaker trying to win over some of Japan’s biggest rivals. And it doesn’t appear that at least one of them – Toyota – is slowing down anytime soon, neither in the real world nor in the imaginative world of digital car content creators.

Last year we selected Honda as the most advanced automaker to feature in the US auto market. The company brings things like the all-new HR-V (larger, based on the eleventh Civic platform, redubbed the ZR-V internationally), the next iteration of the best-selling CR-V compact crossover SUV, plus the high-performance, hot hatchback Civic Type R. that broke the record. And that’s not all, as mid-size heroes also join the list – the Pilot’s next three-row CUV is included with the rugged TrailSport class, plus an eleventh-generation Accord sedan. Oh, and let’s not forget about Acura’s amazing new Integra Type S.

Of course, Toyota hit back hard with lots of new stuff. They brought back the Crown nameplate – now a crossover-style sedan and dropped the XW60 Prius ‘Hybrid Reborn’, including the 220-hp Prius Prime plug-in hybrid format. The C-HR subcompact was dropped and quickly replaced by the Corolla Cross Hybrid, and there’s also the entire Corolla Nightshade family on board.

But that’s (mostly) the passenger car part of the story. Moving on to more crossovers, SUVs, and trucks, there are big superstars like the family-oriented three-row CUV 2024 Grand Highlander, plus the best-selling 2024 Tacoma – complete with a new i-Force Max hybrid powertrain and an adventurous Trailhunter slash.

And that’s only for the first part of the year – whereas the middle of 2023 will undoubtedly belong to Lexus and the release of three new things. The first is the smallest crossover to date, the LBX 2024 was presented for the first time in Milan, Italy, for Europe, Japan, and several other markets. Not North America, of course, but fans won’t regret his absence as they have to contemplate the 2024 TX and GX double ensemble.

Of course, that doesn’t mean Toyota is ready to rest on its laurels in the first half. Instead, people are eagerly awaiting the next big installment in the 4Runner or 2025 RAV4 series. Speaking of the latter compact crossover, while the fifth generation (dubbed XA50) is still hanging around despite being first introduced in early 2018 at the New York International Auto Show, that only applies to the real world.

Traversing a CGI parallel world, the virtual automotive artist behind the Digimods DESIGN channel on YouTube is back to take on the task of unveiling the all-new RAV4 (XA60) but only in CGI.

While last time when the pixel master dabbled in his digital prowess on the sixth iteration of the Toyota RAV4, he implemented some sporty stuff and stole some Lambo (Urus) DNA in the process, this time around, it’s all being kept in the Japanese automaker’s family. Unfortunately, that’s by no means any less unique as the front styling doesn’t even come close to the current Toyota model, and the rear design of the LED taillights seems to have been straight stolen from the all-new, third-generation Lexus GX.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Specs

According to AutoBlog, the 2025 Toyota RAV4 can be fully hybrid with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque which can drop with the gas-powered 2025 RAV4 in about 9.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph.

With the RAV4 Hybrid, of course, we will get the same engine combined with an electric motor to produce 219 hp which can reach 60 mph in about 7.8 seconds which is much sportier.

We believe the 2025 RAV4 Hybrid can keep this engine or get a new one for more impressive engine performance.

Besides that, the Toyota RAV4 Prime uses a 2.5-liter inline four with two electric motors and a rear battery to produce 302 hp which can accelerate to 60 mph in about 5.7 seconds.

2025 Toyota RAV4 ICE and EV Redesign

Toyota has a lot of catching up to do in 2024 as it must ride the ebb and flow of new models introduced last year, but it may also surprise us with some unexpected surprises.

Toyota will try to reclaim GM’s sales crown in the United States after losing by a significant margin (2.6 to 2.24 million deliveries) in 2023. The Japanese automaker will release the N400 Tacoma i-Force Max, 2024 Land Cruiser, Camry mid 2025 A large sedan, and a 2025 Crown Signia crossover SUV. Notice how there’s only one passenger car between them?

Rumors believe that CUVs and SUVs will continue to dominate the trend, and many people are looking forward to the new 2025 Toyota 4Runner competing with the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler, a potential revival of the Stout nameplate that will compete with the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz unibody compact pickup trucks, or even a ‘baby’ Land Cruiser that tries to show the Ford Bronco Sport what a proper compact SUV should be.

Don’t worry, there are other options, the most exciting on the minds of digital automotive video creators is the arrival of the sixth-generation iteration of the best-selling RAV4 compact CUV. The XA50, the founder of the compact crossover SUV class, has been available since spring 2018 and has already received a 2021 makeover and a 2022 update. Of course, this suggests potential changes shortly.

Vince Burlapp (as vburlapp on social media or burlappcar.com) is a prolific virtual artist with some wild unofficial predictions about what will happen next. Plus, the fine folks over at TheAutoReport channel are considering the new 2025 RAV4 in all-electric form, so there’s plenty to choose from in the accompanying gallery. For example, a hypothetical RAV4 EV was created with the help of CGI by YT channel’s fixed pixel masters, but it looks more like a Toyota design than anyone expected.

On the other hand, Vince has a complete collection of unauthorized illustrations of what the next-generation Toyota RAV4 could look like, from the subtle to the insane.

Of course, if the Japanese automaker adopts a conservative approach, like with the not-so-new 2025 Camry, or if the company takes a risk with its most prized crossover SUV, introducing a new design and perhaps bringing back a fully electric version.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Refresh

The new 2025 Toyota RAV4 is expected to come with several distinctive features, including a system that can use solar power to reduce the impact of cold weather on the vehicle’s range, as well as a yoke instead of a regular steering wheel. The interior of the car also has a large touch screen.

The auto company plans to manufacture cars in Japan and China. It should be available globally by mid-2022, according to the company.

Toyota hasn’t announced how far the car will be able to travel on a full charge, but it will likely compete with other EVs on the market, including the Ford Mustang Mach-E which has a range of over 300 miles.

  • Quiet interior and comfortable ride quality
  • Abundant cargo and passenger space
  • Easy-to-use controls
  • Extra off-road capability from the Off-Road TRD trim trim
  • The RAV4 is likely to receive an updated style for the coming year
  • New features or the availability of revised features are also possible

There’s no official confirmation yet for the updated 2025 Toyota RAV4 it seems the update reflects what’s made for the Corolla hatchback in Europe, and foreshadows what we expect for Australia.

The entry-level RAV4 model in Australia will likely retain the 8.0-inch touchscreen, while the tallest model will take on the latest technology from Europe.

Toyota Australia has yet to confirm the line-up of its new RAV4 lineup, but has confirmed its best-selling midsize SUV will get “a next-generation multimedia system across the lineup incorporating a USB-C connection and the addition of Toyota Connected Services”.

The 2025 Toyota RAV4 feature set also includes updates for emergency steering assistance (which helps frantic drivers drive around obstacles to avoid accidents) and intersection pre-collision safety (which prepares the car if it detects an imminent collision while exiting an intersection).

2025 Toyota RAV4 Redesign

The 2025 Toyota RAV enters the segment that will be redesigned, which was last redesigned in 2019. In 2023 the RAV4 received minor updates to make it feel a bit more modern where it includes an optional 10.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with better resolution and an updated digital gauge cluster.

The standard 8.0-inch touchscreen is a bit blurry, and the older digital gauge cluster is a bit basic. But it doesn’t get any extra power or convenience features.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Exterior

Toyota has progressively equipped the RAV4 with alloy wheels in all trim levels. Marcello hopes this trend will continue with the 2025 redesign, where alloy wheels will be standard across all 2025 RAV4 models. These changes will improve the overall profile of the vehicle, giving it a more premium look and feel.

Special RAV4 variants, such as the Woodland Edition, have attracted attention in past years. However, Marcello speculates that the Woodland Edition may not be available for the 2024 or 2025 models. These special editions often have limited production runs, and if the Woodland Edition is discontinued, Toyota will likely introduce a new, equally adventurous, off-road-inspired special edition instead.

In addition to the existing RAV4 Adventure and TRD Off-Road versions, the Woodland Edition to the 2023 lineup is a hybrid model. Building on the success of the Woodland name, which was first introduced on the Toyota Sienna minivan, the RAV4 Woodland Edition brings similar upgrades and solid styling cues to the popular crossover SUV.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Interior

We are very confident that the presence of 2025 will certainly provide a new-generation design atmosphere for the Toyota RAV4 with a fresh style and body redesign. As one of the best-selling SUVs on the market, it will be redesigned in 2025 with several different trims.

To keep the 2025 RAV4 competitive with rivals such as the Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson. Of course, the 2025 Toyota RAV4 could give the styling a bigger look. We know Toyota is taking this step aimed at enhancing in-car technology and providing a more immersive and sophisticated user experience.

Toyota seeks to meet the growing demand of consumers who prioritize modern, cutting-edge features in their crossover SUVs by incorporating larger screens. Toyota expects to introduce significant design updates to improve the RAV4’s undisclosed appeal from sleeker lines to a more aggressive and eye-catching look.

The 2025 Toyota RAV4 carries a charming and good design. Compared to the rugged SUV design of the RAV4, the Toyota bZ4X electric SUV has a softer appearance and is a radical change from Toyota’s current design.

Designing the RAV4 with a sunken and cleaner nose, sleeker and technologically advanced headlights, lower height, slimmer greenhouse, shorter overhangs, and a much steeper C-pillar, this model is stylish and is a breakthrough for Toyota design.

The interior of the 2025 Toyota RAV4 is equipped with elements not typically associated with everyday Toyotas, such as a fully digital instrument cluster and steering yoke that was shifted to regular units for the US market such as the aircraft cockpit.

The 2025 Toyota RAV4 is also very interesting because the cabin feels like an evolutionary departure from customers who prefer conventional vehicles. The 2025 Toyota RAV4 is also expected to come with a wing-shaped steering or yoke steering and a rotary-type electronic gear selector or dial.

Digital lock design allows locking, unlocking, and starting the system from a smartphone. Advanced voice recognition feature that understands voice commands to change cabin temperature, find directions, find POIs, adjust audio controls, and more.

2025 RAV4 Cargo

Interior space appears to be one of the primary reasons purchasers are shifting away from sedans and towards SUVs, so the 2025 RAV4 must be competitive in the class, ideally improving on its predecessor, which had somewhat less back legroom and maximum luggage space than its competitors.

2025 RAV4 Technology

We’re hoping that the next-generation RAV4 will improve on the fifth-generation SUV’s technology. Lower trim levels will most certainly continue with Toyota’s 8.0- or 10.5-inch touchscreen, but if we’re lucky, the RAV4 will get a modified version of the 14.0-inch infotainment system found in the platform-sharing Lexus NX. Toyota’s digital instrument cluster may also find its way into the rest of the lineup.

Features: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0

Toyota has stepped up its safety features in the RAV4 range. We predict that with the 2025 redesign, the RAV4 model will be equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 providing an even more advanced suite of safety technologies.

These upgrades will likely enhance the vehicle’s ability to detect and mitigate potential road hazards, ensuring a safer driving experience for RAV4 owners. Currently, the 2023 RAV4 comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 (TSS 2.5).

These enhancements may include enhanced collision avoidance systems, advanced driver assistance features, and even autonomous driving capabilities, ensuring a safer and more confident driving experience.

2025 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport

We’re already envisioning a new 2025 RAV4 with one of the flagship RAV4 GR models being introduced, but a sportier model in GR Sport trim will likely top the range, as is the case in Europe.

Like our previous image, we tried to imagine the 2019 RAV4 in GR Sport trim – with a twist! We reinvented the taillights, this time taking inspiration from the big 300 Series Land Cruiser and the new Prado, combining concepts from both to produce a fresh style that’s ideal for this Prado-inspired RAV4.

Toyota Australia has reiterated its interest in the RAV4 Prime, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that has yet to arrive in Australia, and the manufacturer has rarely talked about the possibility.

Speaking with Wheels in November, Toyota Australia’s vice president of sales and marketing, Sean Hanley, stated that he believes the potential for PHEVs is growing.

The upgraded RAV4 Prime GR Sport might be ideal as a top-end ‘flagship’ model.

It won’t take long now. The current fifth-generation RAV4 was launched in early 2018, and the upcoming 2025 Toyota RAV4 is expected to be as popular as its highly successful predecessor.
But, how does it look? With the debut of the new, retro-styled 2024 Prado, Toyota now has two, maybe three, new-age design motifs running simultaneously.

As well as the rugged Prado, there’s a sharp new C-HR, and a new Prius (which is no longer marketed in Australia) with similar headlights but a curvier body.

Who knows where the 2025 RAV4 will go next, but considering the current model’s almost aggressive look, there’s a chance Toyota will keep it that way with the next version.

Will it be as mean as the new C-HR, or tougher like the new Prado?

For now, we believe Toyota will rely on its longstanding RAV4 marketing, which has consistently positioned this small and now mid-sized SUV as a road car with off-road ambitions.

The next-generation RAV4 is expected to retain its TNGA platform, with minor changes. According to speculation in the United States, the 2.5-litre non-hybrid petrol engine may be replaced with the series-hybrid technology found in most Australian RAV4s.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

The current-generation Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, which debuted in the 2019 model year, is one of our best compact hybrid SUVs for its refinement, efficiency, and safety technology. In 2025, we anticipate a redesign with a new look and improved powertrain. The 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will face stiff competition from the Honda CR-V Hybrid, Ford Escape Hybrid, and Hyundai Tucson Hybrid.

  • Expected efficiency and performance advantages.
  • Upcoming design updates
  • Gotta get more tech.

The fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 is already a reliable vehicle, especially when equipped with a hybrid powertrain, but it is starting to show its age. Luckily, Toyota is expected to update the RAV4 series with a comprehensive facelift in 2025.

The current RAV4 Hybrid is a great value and comes with a great package of standard features. Its safety ratings and active driver assistance features make it an ideal choice for everyday use. We really like its smooth drivetrain, which delivers efficient fuel economy and quick acceleration. Expected improvements include updating the RAV4 Hybrid’s design and possibly introducing a new, more powerful powertrain while maintaining the SUV’s existing economy.

We hope this facelift will alleviate some of the current RAV4 Hybrid’s shortcomings. In fact, Toyota’s electrified SUV is less entertaining than some of its rivals, and its bouncy suspension isn’t as stable as we’d like. We’ve previously stated that the RAV4’s off-road trim is merely cosmetic, so we’re hoping some of the new Land Cruiser’s tech makes its way to its little brother.

Although the petrol version of the Toyota RAV4 lacks refinement, the RAV4 Hybrid remains a good choice in its class. If the next-generation SUV can emulate some of the charm of the recently redesigned Prius, which we named 2024 Car of the Year, the RAV4 Hybrid will be well positioned for the future.

2025 RAV4 Hybrid PHEVs

In addition, Toyota also provides hybrid and PHEV models which are popular options in the RAV4 lineup which are also present to enliven the automotive market. Since then the RAV4 has gained immense popularity not only in North America but also in several international markets, including Canada, Australia, Mexico, Japan, Europe, and China.

With widespread acclaim and impressive sales figures, the Toyota RAV4 has established itself as one of Toyota’s most beloved models. The hybrid variant accounts for more than 75 percent of Toyota RAV4 sales in Australia and nine of the 13 available model classes are hybrid. The next generation model is therefore expected to duplicate the petrol-electric technology.

  • Toyota to completely redesign its best-selling hybrid model in the US within two years, reports claim
  • The all-new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is expected to produce at least 42 MPG
  • Could launch in the US in 2025 in Hybrid & PHEV (Prime) versions.
  • It is estimated that it will start at under USD 32,000

The Toyota RAV4, the brand’s best-selling model in the US, will get a full redesign in 2025, as per Drive’s report released on February 13, 2023. The next-generation Toyota RAV4 will arrive in Australian showrooms sometime in 2025, and we expect American dealers to welcome it some the previous month, considering this is its biggest market. Here are our expectations from Toyota’s upcoming hybrid SUV.

Drive reports that Toyota has begun development on the next-generation RAV4, which is understandable considering the model’s launch is less than two years away. In the coming months, we may see a prototype out on public roads if the company plans to make an unveiling in 2024, or even in the first half of 2025. As of today, there should be two new electric RAV4 models offered Hybrid and Perdana (plug-in). in hybrid). The Hybrid will likely be more popular in the US and most other markets.

The RAV4 Hybrid has faced criticism for a lack of refinement. Hybrid systems are also known to be noisy. When combined with wind noise, it can become uncomfortable during long journeys. Toyota engineers likely took this feedback into account during the development of the next-generation RAV4 Hybrid. The redesigned SUV is expected to feature improvements in areas such as braking distance, handling as well as overall efficiency.

In the current RAV4 Hybrid, the powertrain consisting of a 2.5-liter engine and two motors (front and rear), produces 219 hp and is EPA-est produced. fuel economy of 40 MPG. The 2025/2026 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid could have the same setup but a better engine and motor offering increased performance and efficiency. We expect a peak power increase of up to 225 hp and an EPA-est upgrade. minimum fuel economy of 42 MPG.

2025 RAV4 PHEV: 124 miles

Toyota Motor Corporation is doubling down on EVs, planning to introduce ten fully electric models by 2026, but leaving no plug-in hybrids behind. The company will upgrade the PHEV by increasing its electric range to 200 km (124 miles), re-positioning it as a “go-to BEV,” Executive Vice President Hiroki Nakajima said in an April 7, 2023 announcement.

We can’t say for sure yet, but the 124-mile PHEV is probably the next-gen 2025 RAV4 Prime or C-HR. However, three-digit electric ranges may be WLTP targets, meaning EPA-est. for the same model, it can go under 100 miles, which is still impressive.

Battery

The Toyota RAV4 is a compact SUV with a midsize SUV interior measuring 184.6 inches long, 73.2 inches wide, and 65.0 inches high (including antennas), but has a wheelbase of 112.2 inches long.

The Toyota RAV4 also has a front-mounted motor producing 150 kW (201 hp) which also includes the option to add an 80 kW (107 hp) rear motor and increase system power to 160 kW (214 hp) while changing the drivetrain layout from FWD to AWD.

Toyota has equipped the bZ4X with a 71.4 kWh battery in the FWD variant and a 72.8 kWh battery in the AWD variant. Depending on the trim, the FWD variant returns EPA-est. range of up to 252 miles and the AWD variant delivers the EPA-est. range of up to 242 miles.

The maximum AC charger input is the same throughout the entire range – 6.6 kW. Charging with alternating current from low battery warning to 80% SoC takes ~50 hours using a Level 1 charger and ~9.5 hours using a Level 2 charger.

The maximum DC charger input is 100 kW on the FWD variant and 150 kW on the AWD variant. However, charging at a direct current from low battery alert to 80% SoC takes the same time – ~30 minutes.

Rooftop solar is available to extend its reach internationally, but not in the US Toyota says it can generate electricity equivalent to 1,800km of driving distance per year.

2025 RAV4 RAV4

With the global shift towards electric vehicles, Toyota’s stance on hybrid technology is evident and predicts an expansion of the RAV4 Prime lineup. Meanwhile, Toyota has taken a unique approach to electric vehicles proving the 2025 RAV4 Prime will be available in more models than current offerings. This expansion will serve a wider range of consumers and demonstrate Toyota’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

Special editions have become a popular trend in the automotive industry, allowing manufacturers to offer unique variants and limited editions that cater to specific customer preferences.

We expect Toyota to introduce an exciting and exclusive 2025 RAV4 edition, featuring distinctive styling elements, interior refinements, and possibly even performance upgrades. This special edition will allow customers to own a truly personalized and standout version of the RAV4.

In addition, we predict the update will cover various aspects, including design, safety features, special editions, and an expansion of the RAV4 Prime range.

While we’re eagerly awaiting more details on the upcoming 2025 Toyota RAV4, Marcello has provided some interesting insights suggesting the lineup may be embracing full hybridization. The shift could potentially involve phasing out the current 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which offers 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.

While the existing engine was not necessarily inadequate, it was criticized for a lack of refinement and a bit of underpowering power. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in around 9.1 seconds, the gas-powered RAV4 falls far short of the class average in terms of performance.

However, it still provides enough power for everyday city driving and running errands. It should be noted that merging with traffic and overtaking on the highway may require a little more patience.

By comparison, the 2023 Honda CR-V has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 190 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, reaching a 0-60 mph time of around 8.0 seconds.

The potential transition to a fully hybrid lineup for the 2025 RAV4 signifies Toyota’s commitment to sustainable mobility and aligns with the industry’s shift towards electrification. By offering a hybrid powertrain across the RAV4 range, Toyota aims to improve performance and fuel efficiency, presenting an attractive proposition for environmentally conscious consumers.

Hybrid+AWD for RAV4 Woodland Edition

Engineered to tackle urban, suburban, and outdoor adventure, the fifth-generation RAV4 is built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA-K) platform. With a bold sculptural design inspired by Toyota’s tough trucks, the new RAV4 reinforces the desirable crossover traits that made the first RAV4 an instant success a quarter of a century ago.

Depending on the model class and options, today’s RAV4 can be anything the customer wants, from the very well-equipped LE model to the plug-in hybrid tour de force technology, with varying levels of luxury and adventure in between.

In any RAV4 Hybrid, the Toyota Hybrid System II (THS II) works in sync with the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Dynamic Force Engine to make the hybrid model the performance and efficiency leader of the RAV4 family. This is truly a compact SUV with no compromises.

In the hybrid model, the Continuously-Variable Transmission (CVT) is exclusively paired with the Electronic All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, making it possible to operate at all vehicle speeds.

An improvement over the previous generation, the rear axle motor operates proactively whenever rear torque would be beneficial to keep the vehicle in the driver’s desired path, or when conditions become slippery.

The AWD system uses an independent electric motor at the rear wheels instead of a torque distribution system in the transmission and an additional driveshaft to the rear.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Prime

Knowing the Toyota RAV4 Prime will remain the only (external) chargeable SUV that can be driven on electric power alone. The first Toyota RAV4 PHEV went on sale in the US in the summer of 2020.

The plan is to start with 5,000 units in year one and increase it to 20,000 units in year two, with most vehicles delivered to dealers in 12 ZEV states.

The allocation of the RAV4 Prime, which is manufactured by Toyota Industries Corporation at the Nagakusa Plant in Japan, has been limited due to supply chain issues.

perhaps the Toyota RAV4 Prime supply will increase, and more American states will sell the most powerful and fuel-efficient RAV4 in history. RAV4 Prime sales throughout the year in the US reached 10,153 units.

New Toyota RAV4 Platform

The 2025 Toyota RAV4 is also equipped with e-TNGA which is a special EV platform. Toyota builds front, rear, or four-wheel drive electric cars on it. Toyota also changes the length, width, height, and wheelbase as needed, and the same goes for the motor and battery capacities.

The same fixed layout for the main components allows the creation of different powertrain combinations. The front motor allows FWD, while the rear motor supports RWD.

2025 Toyota RAV4 eAWD was achieved by using the front and rear motors simultaneously.

Even the Chief Officer – of ZEV Factory (Japan) Koji Toyoshima said the flexibility and versatility of the e-TNGA platform can make the Toyota RAV4 possible to design and build a model that can not only run purely on electricity but is also beautiful to look at and attractive to drive.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Colors

Toyota also intends to offer a wider variety of colors for the 2024 RAV4, giving customers a variety of options to personalize their vehicle.

  1. Army Green,
  2. Blueprint,
  3. Cavalry Blue,
  4. Ice Cap,
  5. Magnetic Gray Metallic,
  6. Midnight Black Metallic,

2025 Toyota RAV4 Engine

The fifth-generation RAV4 is available with petrol, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains. We’d be astonished if the company dropped the basic gas-only model from this staple SUV. However, in recent years, the Venza, Sienna, and Sequoia have all debuted exclusively with hybrid powertrains. Toyota will most certainly provide an upgraded version of the old model’s 2.5-liter I-4 hybrid system, but it may also replace the standard petrol engine with a modified Prius powertrain for increased efficiency.

Toyota equips the RAV4 2025 Hybrid in 2024 with a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine and two electric motors that power a standard all-wheel-drive system via a CVT. The total system output is rated at 219 horsepower. Our test data show that it takes 7.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph. The majority of 2024 models have a fuel economy of 41/38 mpg city/highway, but the outdoor-oriented Woodland Edition gets 38/35 mpg.

We anticipate that the 2025 Toyota RAV4 will have an improved powertrain. It may potentially poach the unit that drives the next-generation 2025 Camry. The Camry produces 225 horsepower with front-wheel drive and 232 horsepower with all-wheel drive. With this combination, the forthcoming RAV4 Hybrid could be slightly faster than the previous RAV4 Hybrid. We predict fuel economy to remain stable or improve gradually. A new RAV4 Prime is also expected to join the roster in 2025.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Features & Security

Toyota should offer the 2025 RAV4 Hybrid/2026 RAV4 Hybrid with features such as a panoramic sunroof, gesture tailgate, digital locks, fully digital instrument cluster, Toyota Audio Multimedia infotainment system, USB Type-C port, power driver seats with memory function and lumbar support, and 360-degree camera system. We hope the company will offer a more comfortable front passenger seat on the redesigned model, as comfort has been a common drawback stated in the front passenger seat on previous models.

Instead of the current Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, the next generation model should upgrade to Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes seven features:

  • Proactive Driving Assistance
  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
  • Lane Departure Alerts with Steering Assist
  • Full Speed Range Dynamic Cruise Control Radar
  • Pathfinding Help
  • Road Sign Assistance
  • Auto High Beam

2025 Toyota RAV4 Safety

Toyota’s customers clearly value safety, and the firm will undoubtedly strive to match or exceed its 2023 IIHS Top Safety Pick and NHTSA five-star overall certification. We can also expect an enhanced version of Toyota’s Safety Sense suite of driver assistance features, including improved lane centering, adaptive cruise control, driver attention monitoring, and emergency braking.

The previous generation Toyota RAV4 2025 received high safety ratings, and we expect the automaker to aim for even higher results with the new model. The IIHS named the 2023 Toyota RAV4 a Top Safety Pick, while the NHTSA gave it a five-star overall rating.

In terms of driver assistance technology, we expect the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite to debut. A pre-collision alert system, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane maintaining assistance, lane tracing aid, road sign assist, and automated high lights are all likely standard features. We believe Toyota will feature Proactive Driving Assist, which gives mild braking and steering adjustments for distance control between other vehicles, bikers, and pedestrians, as well as gentle braking into curves. Other standard safety features include blind-spot monitoring and a rear cross-traffic alert.

Using the 2025 Toyota Camry as an example, higher trim levels will likely have traffic jam help, front cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, and a 360-degree camera. We predict that the 2025 RAV4 Hybrid will include front and rear parking assist with automated braking.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Price

The price for the 2025 Toyota RAV4 and Hybrid in the US may start Price MSRP Range: $29,675 – $39,380 Est.

2025 Toyota RAV4 Release Date

So far we expect the 2025 Toyota RAV4 release schedule to be in late 2024 or early 2025, according to a statement by US automotive insights firm Auto Forecast Solutions, which said production will begin for North America in October 2024.
